Uganda Airlines has entered Ghana's aviation market
The Acting Chief Executive Officer of Uganda Airlines, Ato Girma Wake, has called on African countries to strengthen cooperation, improve communication and work together to build a more united continent.
Speaking at the airline’s inaugural flight ceremony at Accra International Airport on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, he said cooperation among African countries was essential at a time when the world was facing multiple challenges.

“I have a feeling that the world is in the midst of a crisis. That means people need help to communicate on all levels,” Girma Wake said.
He urged African countries to go beyond welcoming visitors and create more opportunities for people to connect, collaborate and build stronger relationships.
“When we come to Ghana, we are not only trying to lead the people to Ghana; we must help the people to come to Ghana and work together,” he stated.
Girma Wake said African countries could achieve more by supporting one another and pursuing common goals.
He added that stronger cooperation would create better opportunities for people across the continent and improve relations between countries.
“If we try to work together, I believe that we can build a very sound and happy Africa,” he said.
His remarks came as Uganda Airlines launched its new service to Accra, a development expected to strengthen air links between Ghana and Uganda and create more opportunities for travel, trade and tourism.
