The assembly members at the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly are calling on the former mayor, Kojo Bonsu to evacuate from the assembly’s bungalow with immediate effect.
The aggrieved assembly members say the Mayor is yet to vacate the assembly’s residence three months after he resigned from office.
They have expressed disappointment over why the former mayor will be occupying the building and doing his party’s bidding at the same time.
Assembly member for Fankyenebra electoral area who is secretary for the KMA assembly members, Nana Prempeh speaking to Kombian Somtuaka on Daybreak Kapital Wednesday said the former mayor “has no right to occupy the residence, it has passed three months.., I feel ashamed for him, does it mean that he has no house in Kumasi? He queried.
He said, the former mayor is still occupying his official residence while championing the agenda of his party.
“Get me right he is staying there championing the agenda of the NDC. I’m not here to do politics but we all know he has launched a program, eighty days campaign tour in Ashanti Region. He and Hon Afrifa Yamoah Ponko and Afrifa Yamoah Ponko is staying in his own residence going out to campaign for his party, I don’t have a problem with it, but how can you stay our residence for the assembly to pay the bills?” The obviously peeved assembly member questioned again.
He therefore said they want him to vacate the assembly residence immediately.
