Valerie Sawyerr is suffering from mid-life issues – Dela Coffie

An activist of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Dela Coffie has launched a blistering attack on party member and former Deputy Chief of Staff, Valerie Sawyerr describing her as someone suffering from mid-life issues after she attacked former President Rawlings.

Valerie in a recent epistle addressed to the NDC founder, urged Mr Rawlings to go and help the fight against illegal mining at Denkyira-Obuasi now New Boasi, if he has nothing challenging to do.

She accused Rawlings of hypocrisy in his consistent attacks on his predecessors, aside President Akufo-Addo.

“The galamsey problem is still in existence despite the fact that the Government is trying to pretend that it has gone away. I am sure you are needed in places like Denkyira Obuasi to help clamp down on the menace. This will help your twin brother President Akufo-Addo fulfill his anti-galamsey promise. Even though he did promise the galamseyers before the 2016 elections that he would leave them to ply their trade. Hmmm …confusion here, there and everywhere!

But in a response, Dela Coffie wondered how Valerie, a daughter of Harry Sawyer of blessed memory could have the effrontery to publicly humiliate Chairman Rawlings who brought her father [Harry Sawyerr] into political prominence?

“If you were as informed as you seem to think you are, you would know that Rawlings actually founded the political movement that you profess to admire.

The bubble your likes live in may never burst but some of us are outside of it. Unlike you, we are not a knuckle dragging ingrates who go about berating the hands that fed our fathers.”
