The National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Sammy Gyamfi, has called on electorates in the Mfantseman Constituency in the Central Region to vote out their Member of Parliament, Madam Ophelia Hayford, for non-performance in the upcoming December general elections.

He made the call during separate community engagements at Abandze and Kromantse, two fishing communities in the Mfantseman Constituency, as part of his campaign tour of the Central Region with the Minority Leader, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson.

Mr. Gyamfi took on the Mfantseman Member of Parliament, describing her as a “non-performing MP” who merely adds up to the numbers in the August House of Parliament without any meaningful impact on the floor of Parliament.

Extolling the qualities of the NDC's parliamentary candidate for Mfantseman Constituency in the upcoming elections, Dr. Prince Kojo Arhin, the National Communications Officer of the NDC said his party’s parliamentary candidate is an accomplished, dynamic and affable person with a distinguished career in Human Resource management.

“Dr Prince Arhin will bring decent and quality representation to the people of Mfantseman Constituency”, Mr Gyamfi added.

He said the Mfantseman constituency currently lacks meaningful representation as the incumbent member of Parliament, Madam Ophelia Hayford, has earned for herself the unenviable title of a "yea yea MP" in Parliament with no advocacy skills to effectively represent the people.

This, Mr Gyamfi, noted was hampering development in the area. He therefore urged electorates in the area to vote for the NDC's parliamentary candidate, Dr. Prince Arhin to give the area better representation in Parliament.

Responding to an appeal from the chief of Kromantse to complete a stalled community centre project, the NDC delegation donated GHC10,000 on behalf of the party’s presidential candidate, Mr. John Dramani Mahama.
