Watch as Bawumia 'lies down flat on the ground' again to pay homage to Yagbonwura as tradition demands

In November last year, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia captured attention when he prostrated before the Yagbonwura during his visit to the Overlord of Gonja in Damongo, a gesture deeply rooted in Gonja tradition as the highest form of respect to the Overlord.

Currently back in the Savannah Region for his nationwide community engagement, Dr. Bawumia paid a visit to the Yagbonwura on Wednesday morning. He honoured the traditional protocol by prostrating once again in greeting.

Accompanied by the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and the MP for Damongo, Abu Jinapor, Dr. Bawumia lay prostrate for nearly a minute before rising to warmly greet the Yagbonwura."

Dr Bawumia has been on a nationwide tour meeting key stakeholders ahead of the December 7 General Elections.
