Watch as Beatrice Annan clashes in heated exchange with NPP’s Ellen Ama Daaku on TV

The Spokesperson for the John Dramani Mahama Campaign Team, Beatrice Annan, engaged in a heated exchange on a live TV program with Ellen Ama Daaku, a communications member of the NPP.

Both politicians were guest panelists, along with others, on the Thursday, October 24, 2024, edition of TV3’s NewDay.

The heated exchange occurred when Ellen Ama Daaku, reacting to the conduct and behavior of the National Democratic Congress MPs in Parliament, on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, stated that they behaved like toddlers.

Beatrice Annan, who felt that the comments made by Ellen Ama Daaku were disrespectful, chided Ellen, drawing in how she (Ellen) could not garner more than 10 votes when she contested in the parliamentary elections.

According to Beatrice, Ellen has no moral right and lacks the integrity to disrespect the parliamentarians who secured enough votes from their constituents to represent them in Parliament, something Ellen herself could not achieve.

“People who have stood elections and they have won, come to represent some of the constituencies, boasting numbers of 55,000 and 105,000, but you went to an election and couldn’t get more than 10 votes so you ought to respect people who have done what you cannot do," Beatrice chided her.

Ellen Ama Daaku, who felt that Beatrice’s comments were attacking her personality, harshly interjected, challenging her to contest an election before trying to stand toe to toe with her and make snide remarks.

Beatrice: People who have stood elections and they have won, come to represent some of the constituencies, boasting numbers of 55,000 and 105,000, but you went to an election and couldn’t get more than 10 votes so you ought to respect people who have done what you cannot do.

Ellen: Fortunately, you haven't even gone for one, so try and go for one.

Beatrice: Yes, that is why I haven't called your side kindergarten.

Ellen: When you go for an election and you even have the nerves to pick up forms then you talk about it. I still insist your MPs [NDC] act like kindergartners. I’ve told you anytime she comes at me personally, you will not finish this program.

You haven't even had the nerve and guts to go for an election but you want to talk about somebody who has gone for one. My dear, go for an election first before you talk about people who have gone for elections.

Beatrice: I stated facts, you had nine votes…

Ellen: As we sit, you haven't even had the nerve in your party to even go for a polling station election but you are talking about me… As we sit here, you have no respect in your own party but you want to talk about somebody who has gone for an election. Have the nerve, pick up forms, go for an election then you can talk about that. Until that, my dear go straight to your point

Beatrice: I am saying that we ought to respect people. You can describe and disagree with them. This morning, we’ve all disagreed with the Supreme Court. Nobody has had to call Supreme Court judges kindergarten children to make their point.
