President John Dramani Mahama on Saturday said Ghana has an enviable peaceful reputation, which all Ghanaians need to be proud of.

He said: "We must be proud of our country; and we the people also need to be proud of ourselves as we are law abiding and respect the constitution of our dear country."

President Mahama said this during the grand durbar of chiefs to climax the Ahobaa Kese festival of the people of Abeadze in the Central Region.

The festival was held on the theme: "Ahobaa Kese Festival, translating our rich cultural heritage into development."

The festival is celebrated to awaken the Abeadze people to the selfless spirit and conduct, to hasten the economic and social development of the area.

It is also an occasion to showcase the cultural heritage of the people of Abeadze and beyond. President Mahama called on all Ghanaians to put the post-election litigations behind and forge ahead as one people with a common destiny to develop the country.

On the development projects in the area, President Mahama announced that government would upgrade the clinic in Abeadze into a polyclinic.

Daasebere Kwebu Ewusi VII, Paramount Chief of Abeadze-Dominase Traditional Area, appealed to government to provide the people with a Teacher’s Training College.

He also appealed to the government to continue and complete all development projects initiated by late President John Evans Atta Mills in the area.
