Wednesday morning’s heavy rains have left most parts of Accra flooded after long hours of nonstop rain.
The downpour, which started around 3 am in some parts of Accra and other areas of the country, has caused massive destruction, leaving several places submerged.
According to citinewsroom.com, the floods severely affected areas like Tantra Hill, Adabraka Sahara, Ofankor Pokuase highway, and the Accra-Tema motorway.
Commuters were left stranded due to inaccessible roads. Motorists plying the Airport-Shangri La-Shiashie roads had to find alternative routes as the roads were blocked, causing heavy vehicular traffic.
Due to the severity of the floods, most businesses and shop owners have closed, with cars parked to avoid further mechanical problems.
Frustrated commuters and motorists have appealed to the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) for intervention to prevent further disaster.
