Controversial private legal practitioner, Maurice Ampaw, has stated that selecting Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as the running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will not benefit the party in the general elections.

According to him, Prof. Naana Jane lacks adequate political experience compared to Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings, who knows the political terrain better.

Speaking on Wontumi TV, and monitored by GhanaWeb, Ampaw asserted that it would have been better if the Flagbearer of the NDC, John Mahama, had selected either Agyemang-Rawlings or her daughter, Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings, to appease the people of the Volta Region in the party.

"When Agyemang-Rawlings started politics, where was Naana Jane? She was still in Senior High School. When we talk about women who stand out and understand politics, we can mention Rawlings' wife and others...

"I propose that NDC should beg Agyemang-Rawlings and make her the running mate instead. If only the party is serious about winning the 2024 elections. Mahama could have even paired with Rawlings' daughter [Zanetor] to satisfy the Voltarians," he said in Twi.

This comes after Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang was officially unveiled as the running mate to partner with John Dramani Mahama on the NDC ticket for the 2024 elections.

This is the second time Prof. Naana Jane has been chosen as the running mate of the NDC.
