Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo hosted a breakfast meeting with all five presidential aspirants of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at his private Nima residence on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.

According to a report my 3News.com on October 21, 2025, the meeting was convened specifically to foster a spirit of camaraderie and unity ahead of the party's presidential primaries, scheduled for January 31, 2026.

The former President stressed that a cohesive party is critically important for securing victory in the 2028 general elections.

In his remarks, former President Akufo-Addo expressed gratitude to the aspirants for taking time out of their busy campaign schedules, noting that their presence signaled a shared commitment to the NPP's future.

He affirmed that he has worked closely with each aspirant and holds them in "high esteem," noting that their candidacies are based on merit and significant contributions to the party and the nation.

He strongly encouraged them to conduct their campaigns in a healthy, issue-based manner that focuses on presenting their visions to the party delegates.

The former President reiterated that his primary commitment lies with the unity of the NPP, the credibility of the primary process, and ensuring the party remains properly energized and rallied for 2028.

Crucially, they all committed to rallying fully behind the eventual winner of the January primary to uphold the party's unity.

Former President Akufo-Addo thanked them for their positive engagement and urged the party leadership to ensure the entire process is credible and fair to facilitate the unity needed after the presidential primary.
