The body was in a decomposing state before it was discovered
Residents of Anyinamso No.1 in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region have been left in shock following the discovery of the body of a young woman believed to be in her late 20s hanging from a tree in a nearby bush.
According to a report by adomonline.com on July 6, 2026, the woman is suspected to have been dead for about three days before her decomposing body was discovered by residents.
The incident has triggered widespread concern within the community, with many wondering what may have led to the woman's death.
Officials from the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA), traditional authorities, and officers from the Mpasatia Police Command visited the scene after the discovery.
“The body was subsequently removed and buried due to its state of decomposition,” the report said.

Police say they have begun investigations to determine the exact cause of death, identify the deceased, and trace her relatives.
They appealed to anyone with information that could assist the investigation to report to the Mpasatia Police Command.
Traditional leaders have also called on families searching for a missing female relative to report to the palace, where they will be shown the burial site to help with possible identification.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing and have urged the public to cooperate with the police to help unravel the circumstances surrounding the woman's death.
