Alpha Hour convener Pastor Elvis Agyemang’s church auditorium was set on fire by a woman on the evening of February 9, 2026.

CCTV footage showed a woman who pretended to be praying in the auditorium before pouring petrol and setting chairs near the altar on fire. According to Pastor Elvis, the woman was arrested on the spot.

Following the incident, Pastor Elvis has indefinitely suspended all in-person prayers at the church auditorium.

He expressed shock at the act, questioning the level of hatred that would drive someone to burn down a church.

“How much hatred can you have? Are you a saint? How much hatred would make you pick fuel, petrol, sprinkle it in a church and set it on fire? Unfortunately, if you don’t know, a lady tried to set the whole church on fire yesterday evening. She came around as though she was praying in the auditorium,” he said.

Pastor Elvis revealed that the church had previously experienced an attack in 2025, when an individual sprayed powder in the auditorium. He noted that this is why the altar is mostly restricted from public use, to prevent it from being defiled.

“It was a devil. They wanted to defile the altar so God would not work. So we had to put measures in place to make sure that nobody touches the altar but you can stand around it,” he noted.

The Alpha Hour convener also highlighted that such incidents are signs of the devil influencing humans to spread hatred.

“And these are all signs of demons feeding on humans, making them hate people who are loving them. They won’t allow Satan to feed on them,” he added.
