You launched CSE quietly; we’ve found out, withdraw it now – Kofi Bentil

The Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) programme being introduced to public schools by the Ministry of Education has been described as criminally dangerous.

Subtle attempts have been made to introduce the programme to schoolchildren with the explanation it will enable pupils to acquire accurate and reliable information on sexual reproductive health.

The Ministry has also indicated the CSE will develop skills of children for self-development and decision-making, give them a sense of confidence, assertiveness ad ability to take responsibility and ask questions.

The programme has come under intense criticism, receiving bashing from a section of the public including church leaders with many describing it as a deliberate attempt to introduce homosexuality to Ghana.

Kofi Bentil of Imani Ghana took to Facebook wall to express disgust at the programme and described it as criminally dangerous and demonic.

He wrote, “Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, Minister for Education, You launched this quietly. We’ve found out. WITHDRAW CSE NOW!!! IT IS THE MOST DAMAGING THING YOU CAN DO TO OUR KIDS! CSE Comprehensive Sexuality Education is not only criminally dangerous and demonic, it has been refused everywhere people realize what it is!! #sayNoToCSE.”

Mr. Bentils condemnation of the CSE is echoed by MP for South Dayi, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor who demanded fierce resistance to what he said is satanic education being labeled euphemistically as health education.

A statement he issued on the matter indicated that a sinister monster is on the prowl in the country called the NPP government.

“This Gov’t has approved through the PPAG and the Ghana Education Service, what it calls “comprehensive” sexual education manual to be introduced in our schools in a couple of days.”

“The long and short is that my 7yr old daughter is to be taught by her teachers how to have sex and derive pleasures from it because it is her human rights including anal sex,” he said in disgust.

According to the MP, he finds this culturally offensive, grossly unchristian and inappropriate.

“Above all, it’s a 1st degree felony to engage in a sexual act with a child below the age of 16 years with or without her consent. It’s called defilement pursuant to the Criminal and other Offences Act, 1960, Act 29.”

President Akufo-Addo, he said, should be reminded of the law if he has forgotten and urged the PPAG that it would be in their interest to return all monies they have collected from whichever organization to desist from this campaign.



The other sickening aspect of it, he lamented, is that it also encourages children to pursue the right of artificially amending their sexuality and become transgenders.

He said, “I demand that we rise up against this satanic education being labelled euphemistically as health education.”

In a related development, spokesperson of the Catholic Bishop Conference Most Rev. Phillip Naameh has expressed anger at the Minister of Education, Mathew Opoku-Prempeh.

The Minister, he said, had not been honest with the Conference after he claimed at a meeting that the programme belongs to an NGO hence government will not fall prey to it.

But then turn around and silently launched it and set it to begin next academic year.

He said, “When the Minister of education called heads of churches to a meeting, he himself said it was an agenda of some western NGOs who through this kind of thing want to introduce all kinds of things to Ghana. But he and the government are not ready for that.”

“So it is a big surprise to me to see that they want to put this in the syllabus and start teaching 5-year-olds about sex.”

“It means the minister of education was not honest with us. Or all those within the education sector are not of one mind and one heart and this is a pity,” Archbishop Naameh said.
