Accra, Dec. 16, GNA - The Management of Prudential Bank Limited (PBL) says its attention has been drawn to a list of names of New Patriotic Party (NPP) ministers and officials who are alleged to have accounts with the Bank with astronomical balances thereon.

The list is on a purported letterhead of Prudential Bank Limited with a forged logo of the Bank and therefore gives the impression that it is one released by Prudential Bank Limited.

"We categorically and emphatically deny the existence of such accounts in our books. The general public and the good people of Ghana are therefore advised to disregard the document," the Bank said in a statement signed by its Managing Director, Mr. Stephen Sekyere-Abankwa.

The statement said when the list was first circulated about seven weeks ago, it was not on such purported letterhead and contained such falsehood that the Management of the Bank deemed it fit at the time to ignore the document.

However, only last week, the Management of the Bank's attention was again drawn to this same list, now on a fake letterhead, purported to be that of Prudential Bank Limited, being circulated in the country.

"We, therefore, deem it appropriate, this time, to make a public pronouncement on the genuineness of the document circulating and giving account balances, purportedly to be that of New Patriotic Party (NPP) ministers and officials, with Prudential Bank Limited," the statement said.

The bank's Management cautioned the perpetrators of this malicious act that they render themselves liable to legal action if they are found out and are therefore advised to desist from circulating this falsehood.
