  The Asantehene has asked the chiefs to stop inviting Wontumi. Galamsey kingpins all over. While chiefs like the Dormaahene have ordered a stop to galamsey in their areas of jurisdiction, some ch8efs who claim to be overlords over vast lands are silent and look on stupidly while criminals destroy forests and waterbodies because of the benefits they get from these galamsey criminals. Wontumi has, through galamsey, has become more powerful in Ashanti than all the chiefs in the Region. And on top of that he is Chairman of the NPP which every Asante foolishly belongs. So Wontumi is now untouchable as long as gold can change hands. After all Ashantis love money more than their dignity.
