  I'm just curious to know how these soldiers were recruited in the first place. Did the military advertise? Did they receive applications from all over the country and abroad? Were applicants invited for screening and interview? Were professional recruiters and military officers allowed to do their job professionally?
  
  I'm asking questions because retired soldiers are talking about protocol lists and undue influence of politicians in the enlistment process. Some one asked me the other day that when was the last time I saw GAF advertising for applicants for other ranks in the newspapers?
  
  We are doomed as a nation if the military cannot be allowed to do their work as professionals.

  NPP government has destroyed the army. The Ghana Armed Forces is now a political institution. My friend resigned in 2022 after 12 years in the Ghana Army. His reasons were the injustices in the army especially when it comes to sharing monies for the staff. Also he said the politicians will not allow one to be a good soldier. He is now cooling off in the USA as a University lecturer.
