Even in well developed countries, customers for services such as these use paper. Every company wants it's customers to download an app even if its a one time service. Copying is good; you don't have to reinvent but copy with sense.

Should we crawl forever? Even a crawling child sometimes attempts to walk and sometimes tumbles and falls but it doesn’t stop him from trying to walk. The ECG is aware there are people who do not have smart phones and if those people have no friends and relatives with smart phones, ECG knows how to assist them. Since you have been able to type and post on this platform, you do not have a problem with smart phones and those not having some is not part of your business. Negativity will not help the country to grow.

ECG was given birth to by an Act of Parliament and so whatever it wants to do must be regulated by law.
Has the company done any stakeholder engagement? If so when was that done? What concerns did the stakeholders raise?
We are in a country that is degenerating into lawlessness. Everyone acts with impunity.
I think it's about time a new power distributing company comes unto the scene, preferably a private company, to give the inefficient and thoughtless ECG a good competition.

In first place there should have been a final reading of the meter so that the estimated stealing stops. Then there should be a education to all maybe by Tv stations and still in the villages the reading should continue.
