TOR has since been ran by government. We should not discuss profits now, because by some thoughts. Ghana government businesses should not make profits. You accept this. I presume. Since the time of Rawlings Ghana government whichever the colour of the administration, had reinvested in TOR. And yet, there had not been any visible signs of a turnaround . Under the current government arrangements were put in place to get private business to partner government, the owner of TOR to make the refinery get back on its feet. The workforce objected to the idea. Some Civil organisations and presimed knowledgeable people read into the sector ministry arrangements with questionable motives. Finally. as had been the character of organised Labour , the leadership vowed to resit the deal reached with the private investor. So, why should you blame Alkufo Addo for inaugurating a private oil procesding facility which would at least, provide about nine hundred direct jobs to Ghanaians..

It is not the first private refinery in Ghana. We have Platon Oil and Gas at Tema near TOR and another one off the Motorway near Kasapreko Factory. These have been operating since 2011.

It's sad we have a refinery that has not been productive over the years and we did nothing to save TOR. Rather we gave credence to foreigners to plunge our oil and setup a refinery.

One thing Ghanaians are not aware of is that the Refinery belongs to Akuffo Addo and his family the Chinese people are frontin for them, why not in Takoradi but just 500meters away from TOR.
