  Ghana policy makers & historical stupidity.
  We had VALCO. While the decades old original VALCO contract needed to change & was done (P/NDC). We went ahead to literally run it down over time, with shutdowns (NPP)! It's now operating at 1/5th it's potential. Now we sign another contract with a foreign company that puts us in a disadvantage because we have to accommodate & compensate the upfront investment by lowering our share. We did all that while rejecting an equally viable local bid.

  Isn’t it time for us to build a Nuclear Power Plant? Building an Aluminum Factory without a reliable electricity is a bit problematic.Nuclear Plants are cheap, environmental friendly and very reliable.At times we have to forge our own path and stop listening to the West. They used Nuclear Energy to push their industrialization, yet they are discouraging us to desist from building Nuclear Plants. Though it is expensive to build a Nuclear Plant, but, in the long term the profit of having a Nuclear Power Plant far outweighs the investment.
