I don’t believe what the ECG boss is saying we don’t sell meters, then why is Kwabenya ECG charging me GHC 2,400.00 for two Prepaid meters. These government institutions are collecting peoples money left and right when they are not supposed to do so. Now, we have the Atomic Energy Commision Inspector who are supposed to inspect your house electrical system charging people about GHC600.00 per inspection. I think the PURC should set the price per inspection, at least GHC 50- 100 will be enough so that these inspectors don’t abuse the public regarding their charges.

Is Dubik Mahama saying he doesn't know his people have been selling meters to customers all the time.

I personally applied for a service connection to a commercial property in Medina and was asked to pay huge sums for the meter. This is a common practice by the ECG staff so he cannot claim ignorance of the practice. Rather he should take steps to ensure it does not continue.

It took me 3 years to get a meter at Afienya, and even that they said the meter belongs to someone else. All the engineers in the Greater Accra region say they don't have meters.
