PRICES FELL IN GHANA SO MANY GHANAIANS SMUGGLED THEIR PRODUCTION TO IVORY COAST. THE PRESENT GOVERNMENT HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ILLS OF COCOA PRODUCTION . AKUFFO RATHER INCREASED THE PRICE OF A BAG OF COCOA TO INITIATE QUATITY PRODUTION AND FILL FARMERS POCKETS. BUT THIS IS YET TO BOOST PRODUCTION . IT IS THEREFORE IGNORANCE AND MISINFORMATION TO PUT ALL BLAMES ON GOVERNMENT DESPITE ITS EFFORT TO REVIVE AND IMPROVE CONDITION AND SITUATIONS.

  It is a serious matter that has to be dealt with all emergency {improper use of Agrochemicals} affecting most of the farmers and the final consumers of agriculture produce especially vegetables.

  It has been a worrying matter for some time now. These farmers are exposed to the dangers of these chemicals for some time. They are not properly protected from the effects of these dangerous chemicals. Most of them now use dangerous weed killers to clear the farms thus causing a lot of problems to the soil, the environment and the farmers. The soil is destroyed and then Fertiliser is used to try and restore things. What kind of Ministry of Agriculture do we have in this country? A bunch of criminals, ignorant ,stupid , or evil characters?

  I see people blaming the president for this. The issue is are these farmers educated on how to use these chemicals? Are they over spraying the crops with harmful doses that is dangerous to both them and the environment? These are questions that needs to asked and addressed.
  On the galemsey issue is a serious one and very destructive to the local environment. My question is, is it the government who is allowing people to do this or is it the land owners allowing people to mine on their lands for a quick buck? I've seen where landowners has gone and brought people in a very beautiful vergin forest land to see if they got minerals so they can get money out of it, not thinking of the long term impact. The government is not even aware of it. The bottom line is we shouldn't be quick to blame the government or president of the country for these things. No matter what laws are on the books, once a family realizes that their land is mineral rich, they looking for a way to make money and will disregard those laws.
