  How could this infinitesimal portion of land be compared to the colossal size that has been lost to galamsey? Swollen Shoot disease is a natural disaster, but galamsey which is being officially supervised by people in high authorities is a humanly-induced economic venture. Some years back, cocoa farmers in our villages were highly respected due to the value attached to what they produced. Today, cocoa farmers INTENTIONALLY sell their cocoa farms to galamseyers and the reasons are not farfetched -- poor pricing of the commodity. Besides, why do most Ghanaians and other foreigners smuggle cocoa from Ghana to sell at Ivory Coast? POOR PRICING! Today, a bag of cowpea is pricier than a bag of cocoa. When did we get here??? May God save Mother Ghana.
