The current economic mess is founded on the so called financial sector clean up. Ofori Atta deliberately froze GoG payment due contractors and suppliers in his first 2 years deliberately to stifle funds due local financial institutions like GN Bank etc. He then claimed to have used GHc25billion ($5billion) to clean up the financial sector. Where did that money go to? Whilst GoG debts due contractors who had prefinanced gov contracts with loans from local financial institutions remain unpaid. As we speak by court, the Judge has passed judgement that GoG owes contractors who borrowed from GN Bank about GHc2.5billion cedis dating prior to 2017.
