Even the Ghana card NDC spent the money but couldn't produce a single card. When Bawumia said he beat John Dramani in 2016 and 2020, John said "I never contested with Bawumia, he wasn't on the ballot it was Akufo-Ado who beat me not him". Now Bawumia says "I am driver's mate", you say no it's the same ticket. Are you confused or what? If this election will be based on failed promises John Dramani has failed the test already because he has many failed promises in his tenure as president, but Bawumia has never been promises. To mention one, NDC promised one-term NHIS premium but they never attempted it. The failed promises of government cannot be the campaign message which make me to vote for the NDC. Look for message. As for the 24-hour economy it's a deception.
I don't understand why the economics lecturers who teach that production is driven by demand, have heedlessly jumped onto the 24-hour bandwagon when the promisers have no clue or not explain how to increase demand. Declaration of 24-hour economy and recruiting people to run three shifts is easy to do. What is not easy is how to manage the payrolls or keep your businesses profitable. At that point the businesses are on their own. No government will serve as their commercial department. Now, have you realized how dumb it is for central government to do a direct 24-hour economy policy implementation? Governments are suppose to create the enabling environment first to create the industries and businesses and drive demand based on which businesses will have to increase their production and by extension the number of working hours and workforce to meet the demand. If I have a product which has high demand, I don't need anybody to tell me to work 24/7 or get engage more hands. Does it make sense? In this regards, 1D1F is a good starting point. Digitalization has changed the way we do businesses and could increase demand. Micro and macroeconomics stability is another area government can look at. Everything put together, Bawumia has more vision regarding this than John Dramani. Everyone knows he will crash if he jump head on to implement 24-hour economy. And we know he can't create the enabling environment and implement the policy within the 4 yrs he is asking for. Besides, he was already given more than what he is asking for, but he failed.
