Dr Kwame Nkrumah brought down his government because he turned himself to a tin god, believing in juju, imprisoning his political opponent and anyone who speaks against him, he even turned young pioneers into spies who even reported their parents to authorities, there was fear everywhere and the reigns of terror. Dr Kwame Nkrumah turned Ghana to one party state and the only supreme leader. He was a dictator and the end of every dictator is death and misery. He spent all resources on Ghana on other countries instead to used that money to lift the masses up.

I was in my teens when Nkrumah was overthrown. I saw and read the caricature and insults rained on him by the NL C and their cohorts. I saw his books being burned. Ghanaians were barred from mentioning his name in public and in the media. A major attempt was made to erase him from history. He was demonised and accused of most horrific crimes none of which was true
Years later I as post graduate student in UK I saw similar tactics being employed against a democratically elected president of Chile -Allende when CIA sponsored Coup overthrew him.
Nkrumah wasn’t a saint ( I’m sure he would be horrified by such accolade) nonetheless he was and remains the Best president we’ve ever had . All those who have come after him are simpletons in comparison Most have proved to be neo-colonial stooges, incompetent and downright corrupt
