Imprisonment and even killing of such activists have never deterred others from continuing their agenda. If anything at all, it simply harden their sympathisers and supporters, who then resort to more serious actions, like killing in revenge too. Next time, they won't leave any witnesses to identify them. I can therefore say this is a futile action. The next manifestation of insurgency shall be more serious if nothing is done to address the lingering grievances.
