I totally agree with you. This is the trend, and it's not surprising because there's little or no planning on the part of these players and their employers for these moments during their peak.

I totally agree with you. This is the trend, and it's not surprising because there's little or no planning on the part of these players and their employers for these moments during their peak.

Sporting career is VERY SHORT so these guys should be helped or even "forced" to plan during the years they are earning money - for their rather long non-playing phase. Many industries do this by establishing pension plans and/or paying into some kind of social security fund. Why can't football administration do same?
