Pension is taxable when it exceeds the taxable threshold. Any income is basically taxable after deducting allowable expenses.

Ghana slowly becoming Uncle Sam. If I pay tax to Uncle Sam after pulling the dollar like a chestnut out of the blazing fire, then corrupt AKUFFO ADDO and his bunch of AGYAPA and PDS thieves and hyenas also want their share. What nonsense. Americans take care of its citizens outside the country and can therefore tax their overseas income but not irresponsible and wicked Ghanaian politicians. Errant nonsense!

What are the Laws regarding foreign earnings by Resident Ghanaian citizens? Any person breaking the laws should be arrested immediately and charged. I would appreciate Laws forbidding Ghanaian nationals living and working in Ghana to acquire property outside Ghana. That practice should be outlawed and those breaking it charged and made to serve long stretches of custodial sentences.

Most Ghanaians living abroad are not affected by this. A resident Ghanaian is one who spends more than 183 day a year in Ghana.

If it were in Europe, that woman would have been in prison now for tax evasion. But in Ghana, she's walking free and even have the guts to pursue a theft case.

Ghana revenue authority comprises small-minded jealous idiots. They have no knowledge of the principles of taxation. They should stay away from Ghanaians living abroad because they cannot collect taxes owed the nation by residents (persons and organisations) in Ghana.
The GRA cannot tax and investigate bribery and corruption in Ghana and the huge amounts of repatriated cash from the country by citizens and foreigners in the country.
Now after taxing mobile money, they think they can extend their dirty hands on Ghanaians living abroad. It is a senseless policy. It was announced after someone recovered from alcohol and wanted to impress.
You should remember that when people do not feel comfortable with their remittances to Ghana, the country will be the lower. The millions that come into the country are all genuine money and I urge the finance ministry to think about better ways to raise funds for the nation than turn on Ghanaians living abroad. The policy lacks common sense.
