THERE SHOULD BE REWARD SYSTEM FOR THE PUBLIC TO TURN IN THOSE THIEVES' NAMES AND WHEREABOUTS.

The best way to fight these dangerous acts is for the government to have a reward plan for members of the public to turn in the names of those suspected of stealing railroad ties, electric pole nuts or cables. Those engaged in such acts are as dangerous as armed robbers killing people on Ghana's roads and in homes. No use waiting and hoping for them to perish,; it calls for the government taking steps to engage the public in helping to catch these evil criminals who clearly are endangering the lives of the public.

If I had not returned to settle finally in Ghana 2 years ago, I wouldn't know the real nature of Ghanaians. I always thought, oh, Ghanaians are selfless, humble, loving, hardworking, honest people with high integrity. I'm a Ghanaians myself, but I'm shocked how unpatriotic, selfish, dishonest and wicked most Ghanaians are.
Today you hear people conniving with faceless people in high places to steal railway lines. Yesterday, it's people in authority ( including chiefs) engaging in galamsay. You hear of a minister of state hiding huge sums of dollars in her house; People stealing electric bolts and nuts belonging to ECG; You hear stories of SHS students being fed with unwholesome food. Teachers collecting monies from students to allow them cheat in wassce exams. SHS teachers not receiving their promised laptops despite monies being paid. Basic schools without textbooks for the past 4 despite change of curriculum. Schools under trees and children without chairs and desks. But the Vice President , aspiring to become the President, happily going to launch 1 SHS Student 1 Laptop project! I challenge everyone to tell me the current rate of the cedi to a dollar.
Aba! What kind of species are we? Where are our priorities? We're a shameful lot, lacking integrity. Greed, selfishness, nepotism, cronyism, tribalism, clueless and visionless leadership, bad governance, corruption in both high and low places, to mention but a few, have brought the nation to its knees. Today, nothing is working in the country! The nation is at a stand still, waiting for peanuts, the last tranche of IMF "bail out", before we can move forward. Aren't we ashamed of ourselves? Everybody is complicit, the citizens are wicked and the government is also visionless. I'll not take you far, just visit countries in the southern part of Africa, Namibia, Botswana, and the island of Mauritius to learn how to manage or run a country. If you have visionary and selfless leaders leading the people, the nation prospers. The reverse is also true! Who has bewitched us? It's nobody than ourselves.
Today, wr have become the laughing stock among comity of nations, but we still unashamedly call ourselves " the gateway to West Africa". Mtchewwwwww
