  How the hell did Egypt amounted this many medals especially 102 golds. What events were they in.. I've never known them to be a threat in any athletic event except football.

  Very disappointing for Ghana despite presenting the second largest continent number after Egypt and still struggled and never could make the top five. Ghana's focus at the game was to rival Nigeria hence the overemphasized attentions on sports that involved both countries as though the tournament was organized to contest Nigeria and not for the unity of the continent. Now that the medal dust is settled and Ghana failed to make the top five; Nigeria could donate part of her Gold medal haul to Ghana so Ghana could upstage Nigeria from the second position on the medal table. Ghanaians should do a rethink of the their senseless rivalry with Nigeria and not make Nigeria subset standard measures for Ghana's achievement in anything. Nigeria has never looked back to Ghana as a standard measures for anything achievable and Ghana must learn to do same. Take a look at Entertainment Industry that include Music and Film production, Ghanaians continue to draw parallel with Nigeria over does it better with Ghanaians claiming Nigeria copied virtually everything from Ghana including how to play football. Amazing stuff of a failure mentality. If Ghana as it is known was the first country in the sub Sahara to gain Independence; what then happened Ghana is struggling to maintain economic status and continue to struggle under unsustainable debt to the colonial masters of the Western countries under the IMF program that has made Ghana a recolonised debt ridden country. It's a shame indeed.

  Kudos to Ghana! Great hosting, even with our shortcomings and great improvement in our medal tally. Hope the new sporting facilities will be used to raise more athletes and won't become white elephants.
