This must come in the Guinness Book. The first black man to trick the white man and made him a fool thereafter.

  • AKWAMU IS ALREADY IN THE RECORDS 1 year ago

As merciless rogues who supplied the most slaves to the Europeans from Quidah in Benin to the borders of the Ivory Coast. There’s nothing heroic about Akwamu because they were sell outs and worked for those who came to load ...

    Lies and Rubbish!
If you sell a property and keep the keys, what are the keys worth if you dont have access???
    Made up histories!

  • Historian 1 year ago

The keys were kept as souvenirs. The Danes had to install new keys. Those keys taken by Asamani are part of the regalia of the paramount chief of Akwamu till today.

What is made up history? Why can't you go and investigate the story but rubbish it entirely? If you are a Ghanaian, haven't you heard this story before?

Wonderful. This what we call history. Akwamus are great Aduana Warriors and half Twin of Dormaa. They helped Kwasia TUTU I, to return to Kwaeman after he impregnated the sister of Denkyirahene.

  • NDC IS A CURSE 1 year ago

NOW YOU AND YOUR DORMAA AUNTY BADU HAVE PROVED TO THE WORLD THAT YOU ARE THE MOST OPPOTUNISTS ON THIS PLANETS, YOU ARE ALWAYS ALLIGNING YOURSELVES TO EVERY HISTORICAL EVENT. IF ITS NANA ASAMAN THEN YOU ARE FROM AKWAMU WHEN ...

The same way KWASIA TUTU is also a Mossi.

  • Kojo Asamani 1 year ago

You are not serious. You call a man who created an Akan state that matched the white man boot for boot for centuries a fool, and yet gloat in the glory of another that seized a fort for a year. Hypocrisy and Jealousy. I bet, ...

True. They gave Osei Tutu 300 soldiers with whom he usurped the Aduana stool of Kwaman. Those soldiers were settled at Adum after he became chief. Yes he impregnated the sister of the Denkyirahene and escaped with his friend ...

Had cameras been invented in or around the 1690s? How did Ghanaweb get a photo of Asameni and his kinsmen?

  • Nsia 1 year ago

Ghanaweb and their idiotic embellishment that serves no useful purpose. How can any journalist even come out with such crap that a photograph was taken of an African slave trading chief in the 1600s?
Even when all the histor ...

The picture is that of King Amoako Atta of Akyem Abuakwa. No camera existed during the time Asamani captured the Christianborg Castle.

The Ghanaweb editors are dumb writers.

  • Gyan gyebi 1 year ago

You guys need to hire an editor. No camera existed in 1693

  • Kojo Asamani 1 year ago

    * The Danes were here to trade, not as colonialists. Colonisation only started after the bond of 1844.
    * Photography was not developed at the time of Asamani, so that picture couldn't have been him.

  • Nsia 1 year ago

@ Kojo, their own records tells us that Denmark and Norway had a colony in West Africa called Danish Gold Coast. so, what is your point?

  • Milton 1 year ago

1963 are you really serious ? Please stop the misinformation.

  • Andy 1 year ago

While Asantes were fighting them, others were tricking them

  • Kwame 1 year ago

It can't be his photograph ,since the first photograph was taken on 1822

  • Dumb Writers 1 year ago

The picture IS NOT NANA ASAMANI's picture. This is the picture of King Amoako Atta of Akyem Abuakwa. Asamani was never captured in any picture for history books.

  • Whyte 1 year ago

Ghanaweb did you say 1963?? Why are you doing this to the country?? Can't you people read over before posting?

  • REALLY? 1 year ago

Master slave raider and slave traders are now heroes! In 1963, Ghana had been independent for 6 years and there were no slave-trading Danes in Kwame Nkrumah's Ghana to be tricked by their murderous Akwamu slave-trading partne ...

The date for your headline is wrong. The historic event took place in 1693 and not 1963.
