The issue here is the rude, unprofessional staff working at the embassy. If it is the same dark skin lady she is talking about, then I had a nasty experience with her as well. They stand at the counter with frowned faces and poor customer service. The embassy needs to hire staff from her instead of bringing these rude, unprofessional and nasty attitudes from Ghana.
It is a shame.
They need to go through customer service trainings quarterly.

Bogus and arrogant defense. The consular section should sling more customer service oriented rather this rebuttal which is full of pride. They never learn. This rejoinder is not here or there and it is imperative to have responded in a more reconciliatory tone rather than to come up with a tone that seems to suggest that actions taken were in line with normal business practices. Who doesn’t know the many questionable practices at our missions worldwide. The lady raised several issues which are worth addressing. Why would you ask her to go and print a hardcopy of the letter knowing very well that this is not only inconvenient but rather a tactic to frustrate the process? I am not even counting the carbon imprint impact if we were all going to print such docs. Why was it possible that unauthorized persons could enter and HAND over passports to others. You are full of yourselves and you ought to be ashamed for even daring to come out with this rejoinder. The fact that you responded in detail says it all. The incidents reported are not isolated to the lady but many of us are very familiar just that we don’t have the time and energy to report or argue further. A bunch of learned illiterates!

I’m not surprised. The high commission doesn’t understand. How about the Ghana Passport Biometrics Enrollment Center in Chicago? I showed up for my appointment only to be told that the agent was not available. In fact she was not around the day before and no other person at the place could help. No email or phone call in advance to let me know that the agent will not be around. I had travelled 2.5 hrs, stayed at a hotel the night prior close to the office so I don’t miss my appointment. In all almost $500 gone to waste. It’s been 2-3 months and todate the office hasn’t reached out to me. When I reached out to the high commission in New York and the embassy in DC, no help. In fact it took multiple calls for me to be able to get someone at the New York office. My interaction with this individual was less than favorable; rude and condescending. she further noted this is an issue I had to address with the Chicago office. Mind you, I had already tried to no avail. Interestingly enough, this same lady said the Chicago office is a third party and is not affiliated with the high commission or the DC embassy. What was annoying was that when I applied to renew my passport, the application was through the New York High Commission website where they provided options of places to go have the biometrics done. The closest to me was Chicago as opposed to a 10+ hr drive to New York. Anyways, I emailed the ministry of foreign affairs for help. Till date I haven’t gotten a reply. I guess I’m naive to think these folks will help.

I contemplated for a while to go on social media myself and share my experience about all three places. It’s really disappointing. If someone from the commission or dc embassy is reading this please improve your services and grand some courtesy to applicants.

I myself have experienced the same problem from the Embassy in London Holland Germany and in Belgium they are only at there for their political parties nothing else.

All over the world, it's only Ghanaian embassies that are bent on using tour agent, airline ticket sellers to apply for visa for passengers traveling to Ghana. By doing this, embassy officials only connived with these agents to share visa application charges. Chang the system to make visa acquisition easy for travelers. We all know what is happening at the various embassies. Ghanaian foreign mission workers are disrespectful, incompetent and rude to its citizens who go there to make use of the embassy's services. You can't convince anyone with any press statement on what the lady went through and others are going through on daily basis.

Come with a system for one to be able to apply for a visa online, pay the charges and issue the visa so one can print out, travel on his/her passport with printout proof of visa issuance and upon arrival at Kotoka, you have your passport stamped. A lot of countries are doing this except the Almighty Ghana, why because of corruption in every corner.

Similar incident occured while waiting for my Ghana card at the municipal office. in a queue and noticed someone being "shipped" into the queue. Had I not intervened, some idiots who pay no more taxes than I do would have been served. I shared my piece of mind with the staff that day!

I remember a similar situation in the Toronto Consulate years ago where the rude daughter of them Vice-Chairman, Stephen Ntim who was made Deputy Consular-General (with no experience) started acting like the Office belonged to her father.

Visa application was mailed. My friend travelled to NYC by bus, Wanda Couch for the biometric. He spent just an hour. Within 3 weeks he received both the visa and the passport by mail- no issue, no bribe as being reported.

I believed the lady after reading the x post but only because we know in Ghana thoses things she experienced in N.Y. are common everyday occurances in all walks of life. This reflects on Ghanaian society and the people who run public services. What she didn't say in the x post was she gave them the wtong name. Which was a delayed the process. The applicant should have known to sent the stamped envelop and the visa would have been broight to her home.
I applied for a visa though mail....but mailed to the wrong embassy (Atlanta). I recieved my application with a polite letter from the embassy explaining the city I should send the application which was N.Y. I included the Fedex postage and envelope with my application. I recieved my visa and passport at my door expedited one week later.
So I applaud the embassy for defending themselves from the X post......the lady should have told the truth.

We should always respect our own. I was at the consulate the other day in New York for a visa documentation. One lady came by and the way she behaved was very rude. She had no respect for any of the employees and was talking and cursing almost every body. An American sitting beside me was shocked and asked me if this is how are people treat their Embassy workers. But this same people when they go to British, German or Swiss Embassies, they behave like cold water has been poured on them. All what you hear is Yes Sir, Yes Sir, Yes Sir. We should learn to respect our own and stop bringing down what belongs to us as if that one is garbage.
