His family have been part of Accra. Gas do not have to claim Azumah for boxing credit. About 90 percent of Ghana boxing world title record holders are Gas from Accra FACT..The remaining 10 percent have to be affiliated with Gas to get there. Boxing is in Ga DNA and culture . Even the ring side language is Ga. If Azumah's family had settled outside of GREATER ACCRA, he wouldn't have never been a boxer.

There are many Ghanaian names that are common also in the Cameroons and Kenya, or that matter across many other countries in Africa, and that has nothing to do with migration. What proof do you have to support your bogus claim that the late Egala and his ancestors are not originally from Ghana? There are towns, villages and cities in Ghana that have names similar to names of towns and cities in the Congo, so will you claim also these Ghanaian towns and cities adopted their names from the Congo?

Different traditional (Indigenous) languages we use in Africa are the reason there are name coincidences. Some of the names may have meanings in some tribes or countries whilst in others, the same names may have no meanings.

Clement Quartey, Ike Quartey, Roy Ankrah, AZUMAH NELSON, Alfred Kotey, Joshuah Clottey, and Richard Commey were all Ga world boxing title holders. Gas don't brag, but just like Nike, they just do it.

He beat Henry Sadler to become the Ghanaian Champion. He then got the African title and out of the blue was given the chance to fight Salvador Sanchez for the world title. He gave Salvador hell but for inexperience lost the title. After the death of Sanchez in a accident he beat the mighty Wilfredo Gomez by knockout in his hometown to win his first world title!
