  OJ made himself even more popular thereby erasing everything he had done before at USC and in the NFL. He also gave us the Kardashians, brought bear the racist police detective (in Mark Furman) and the corrupt and toxic LAPD. He got away with a double murder because of hatred. His later life would attest to the fact that he didn't care about any life because he thought he was invincible.
  
  The planting of evidence, the irregularities etc pointed to a very bad and unreliable prosecution and witnesses therefore the trial was not really about who killed Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman. That paved the way for subsequent cases to be decided on technicalities rather than on the substance of the case i.e. attack the credibility of the witnesses and never ever defend yourself with the truth.
