PETER TOOBU IS A POODLE OF THE IGP DAMAPARE

It is ludicrous, repugnant, awful, and regrettable to hear a dishonest person like Peter Toobu 'firing' the Hon Minister for the Interior, Henry Quartey for speaking what is on the heart of many police personnel. Some of us are not surprised, though, because Peter Toobu has benefitted immensely from Dampare so much in the form of financial inducements and recruitment slots both at the Academy and recruit levels. Who doesn't know that Peter Toobu, like many influential people in this country, is in the pocket of igp Dampare?

Like Dampare, his strongest weapon is populism and attention-seeking. Is Peter Toobu not aware that Dampare is the most scandalous IGP ever appointed? From Courses 51 to 53, there's been so many scandals to the extent that the OSP had to come in, but was strangely stopped from undertaking investigation into the corruption surrounding the intake.

Peter Toobu rose to the rank of Supt before exiting. He even worked in the office of IGP Apeatu, who was fired because of Peter Toobu. In his entire career in the Police Service, did he ever hear any IGP who gave special recommendations to over 30 people? What are we seeing today? Dampare from course 51 to 53 uses examination as a smoke screen to recommend over 200 associates into the Police Academy at a go. He uses examination to pass 300 people out of over 1200 personnel and go ahead to recommend about 200 people in addition. His modus is to give some one or two slots to both NPP and NDC politicians, some traditional and religious leaders, one each to POMAB members, media personalies, and take about 100 slots for himself.

Did Peter Toobu observe the ovation that greeted the Mnister's announcement of special recommendations, with the exception of Dampare? Peter Toobu should just shut his mouth and concentrate on the Atta Akyea report that he and some moles on the committee have vowed to never allow its release. If Peter Toobu needs money from Dampare for his campaign, he should adopt a different strategy. This one is below belt.

Peter Toobu should go to the Police Academy today and see the kind of special recommendations Damare has done and tell us whether he will be proud as a former police officer or a Ghanaian. How can you recommend people who are far juniors and can't even write their names over their seniors who are more qualified?

It is so shocking that the worst igp ever appointed is being hailed by virtually every Ghanaian because of his incessant publicity stunts. It is very sad. He has blackmailed virtually outspoken person with either contract or recruitment slot. Time is going to reveal how worst Dampare is. A tyrant who has taken the Police Service as his personal property and doing whatever pleases him, yet, portray to the outside world that he's humble and caring. It's just a matter of time.

Peter Toobu should channel his energy to release the Atta Akyea committee report, the Bortianor Killing report, and other extra-judicial killings perpetrated under Dampare instead of infuriating police personnel.

Police personnel are fully behind the new minister to sanitize the stinking rot in Dampare's administration. He should remain focused and stay above Dampare's cunning and underhand dealings. Dampare has destroyed the police service to an irreparable level, but many Ghanaians see him as a Saint. It's just a matter of time.

The battle is still the Lord's. We rest our case for now.

I would like to request that you give serious consideration to the concerns of the men and women of the Ghana Police Service, who are currently experiencing a significant decrease in morale.

I believe that your recent statements and actions have contributed to this decline in morale. I urge you to refrain from using the police service as a tool for your political propaganda. Actions such as yours create unnecessary animosity and undermine your credibility with the police officers you once served alongside.

Remember, they know you so well and know your history in the service, particularly your latter-day history before your exit from the service. Most of us, your colleagues, are restraining ourselves just because of the respect we have for your current office as a member of the parliament of the Republic of Ghana.

Please don't push us to disrespect you. That said; I am disheartened by the news report titled "Interior Minister Should Stop Inciting Inspectors and Chief Inspectors against the Police Administration, PETER TOOBU." I found your statements to be disappointing and disheartening.

I pray that you will resist any temptation to involve yourself in the allocation of recruitment slots from the Inspector General of Police (IGP). Such practices inject political bias into the police service and undermine its integrity.

Instead, I encourage you to focus on collaborating with the IGP and your constituents to develop and implement measures to combat the rampant robbery and other violent crimes in your constituency. I am aware of the ongoing issue of robberies occurring every market day in Wa West, and I believe that you should prioritize addressing this pressing matter for your constituents.

I respectfully request that you consider these concerns and work towards rebuilding trust and morale within the Ghana Police Service.
