Maintain the old ones so that only their children can get admission.

It's only in Ghana that your relative must be a doctor before you can be admitted into a medical school even with excellent grades.

I find it difficult to get the doctor's point. It seems more diabolic than making a point. More admitted in one school compromise quality. Decentralization or more schools will reduces burden on a single hospital like KATH. M ...

Greed will kill u. Government should even make it one in every region. Ii will be good if government adopt the Nigeria system where they train and ask them to look for their own jobs.

very greedy doctors monopolizing the profession for their children alone. these days it is very difficult for a student to get admission to a medical school without connection/protocol unlike previously when most of these old doctors enter medical schools. If i had my way every region should have a medical school to train and retain the indigenes in the area. Most of these doctors' children who are privileged to do the course do not accept posting to deprived areas such as the north.
so Mr. GMA president shut-up your beak, for the course is not for your father.

THIS so-called doctor is not sensible. When KNUST was getting a medical school there was opposition and when UCC was establishing a medical school there was also a huge opposition. Even the National Accreditation Board was against the medical school untill UCC forcefully established it. In Germany almost every university has a medical school. Africans are not yet intelligent.

You have to be really qualified to get admission. Advanced countries medical schools are well supervised. You can't see medical schools everywhere. Government must be serious about this even there's too much nursing schools in Ghana why? I have heard that Directors of these schools are making it a gold mine. You have to pay over six thousand cedis before you can admission to nursing schools at the major universities and hospitals
And three thousand cedis for admission to the urban schools. Now nurses are everywhere in Ghana but without job why

Pure protectionism, we are short of over 20,000 doctors. Allow Ghanaians with foreign degrees to practice!!! Why let them sit the whole outdated Ghanaian exams before allowing them to work ???
