One of the sons (Sampong Bediako) was my mate at sec school form 1. As soon as he completed sec school, the father opened a store for him.
Well, their market value is very huge: Ernest Chemists alone would take over 30% shares in Ghana, as he's not doing only buy and sell, but also manufactures.
During the funeral, any Adisco student who wanted to attend the funeral could do so : free transport to-and-fro, free meals and free accommodation for four days.

Your questions smell of the usual pull him down syndrome. Akuffo Addo's Father and Uncles have been into politics, other Families have 3rd Generation Lawyers and Doctors. So what is wrong with Old Bediako passing on his expertise in Pharmaceuticals to his children? If you're writing a thesis or book, this is not the right place to get answers, Yaw Jealous.

The usual pin brain trobes - envious, negative... just to avoid engaging in critical thinking and sane analysis. What will you do if one day this family wakes up and decides to close all their stores nationwide? Or for whatever reason withhold supplies to government hospitals nationwide? This is a Near Pure Monopoly, which has dangerous ramifications for competitors and consumers alike.
It even has national security implications! Imagine if they decide to hoard a critical vaccine needed to cure deadly pandemic? In any serious country they will be answering questions at the competition tribunal. Google competition laws and learn na Ghanafuo moabon dodo!!

Clearly you don't understand the term free market, this is a monopoly that keeps at bay any competition because they will easily cram you out by fixing prices. How is it a free market when the customer is forced to buy from the same seller in a clandestine manner? Go back to school you don't understand economics.

Ghana is a nation in free fall because it doesn't have its citizens at heart. People are celebrating their entrepreneurial acumen but in any serious country these people will be hauled before the competition tribunal. Because with such control of a sector there's bound to be price fixing, crowding out of competition, even sabotage is possible which becomes a national security concern. Imagine if this family hoards a critical vaccine meant to eradicate a deadly disease we will all be toast! There's a reson why developed countries have competition laws.
