Oh yeah, JJ Rawlings took a bribe, even though he portrayed himself as a Saint. For several years, he never accepted that the money even was $5m. He kept on denying it, saying it was $2m until 2018 when he realised that it was an open secret. The Nigerians had already become aware of the full figure. And this was the man, so envious of people who had made it in life. Could Rawlings tell Ghanaians who that friend was, the one who supposedly sponsored/bore all the expenses in educating all his 4 children in U.K? Could Rawlings tell Ghanaians who benefited from Government Scholarships at Scholarship Secretariat? What do we see in Ghana since the days of the so-called Revolution? A typical Animal Farm Revolution!

Rawlings killed people by falsely accusing them of corruption and today the most corrupt politician is Mahama leading the NDC.
Rawlings went to Bawku and told them that the dead Chief wasn't a chief but the dead commoner was rather supposed to be a chief, hence his son should succeed him and till today innocent people are dying in Bawku.

But if a contractor doles out 2000 Pounds to a minister, that cannot be a gift / present. Why do you think a stranger business man would give out that bunch of money to a minister? : Simply just to influence the minister / seek favors from the minister.

A minister MUST not accept gifts or any other thing that is likely to influence his decision making, either directly or through proxies.

In Germany for instance, if you pay a fine of 40 EUR but give a 50 EUR note to the police officer and then ask the officer to keep the change, he will have you ARRESTED for ATTEMPTING to bribe him!!!

I was personally warned after asking a police officer to keep a rest balance of just 5 EUR.

To stem off corruption is simply to have the effeontery to confront it headlong by political actors in the system. All the laws are in place, all the crime fighting agencies are in place but what's lacking is the political will to prosecute party men and women who temper with State funds and accept bribes while in office. All the laws are in place, every crime fighting agency has been provided but what's lacking is the political will to prosecutive party men and women who fall foul to criminal activities while serving the Nation. Although our greatest undoing in this dispensation is Professor Mills failure to prosecute prosecute Kufour and his thieving Ministers. If Mills had done so, Akuffo Addo wouldn't have the temerity to poke his short fingers into our faces while stealing from us. President Mahama showed a glimpse of that leadership when under his own watch he prosecuted his own men and women sighted for corruption so I have the firm believe that given a second chance he'll do just that bcoz if Akuffo Addo and his Akyem mafia gangsters are let up, this country won't survive. They have plunder the land out of greed and with fascist tenacity that requires stern confrontation. This is why Mahama needs to be supported to come back in December 7th. We can't afford to allow these thieves to get away with their crimes against all of us.
