If you make a bad call which results in a goal. The goal must stand because the call the linesman made initially was bad. Likewise, if you score after a mistake has been made the goal is automatically erased after VAR

  The thing is mistakes can be made, and that's what VAR is there to check. But an irredeemable mistake is one where the whistle goes before a goal; there's nothing VAR could do about that cos the opponents can argue that, they relented because the whistle had gone {the only possible redemption is a plea t replay the entire match, which usually is a hard call}
