1. Some of the Lebanese or Syrians came with little or no work capital. They got loans from local banks and lived up to expectations and paid back! The bankers were happy and comfortable dealing with them because it was a win-win situation.
2. The Ghanaians who went for loans squandered them on cars, funerals and big time lifestyle. They defaulted and ended up on the streets. The bankers lost with some going to jail. It’s a loose-loose situation.
Even in extreme circumstances where genuine Ghanaians wanted loans for good and viable business plans, they ended up being denied.

They did not like Nkrumah but today neither Kufour, Akufo-Addo nor the NPP leadership can justify the riches NPP politics brought to its leaders neither can any of them say there were bad deeds of Nkrumah the UP/NPP has not done 10 times over. The tribes that give NPP its majority base of support, Ashanti and Kyebi pursue money the same way; get rich quick or die trying with no sustainability or patience in their vocabulary.
