If you study the write up carefully, you would realize that the out gone chairperson is from Seychelles the hosts of the 13th conference. The convention has always been that the host nation and the particular institution that hosts it has its leader elected by member countries to serve as the chairperson.
EOCO hosted it for and on behalf of Ghana hence her election.
South Africa will host it next year and that’s the basis for which their leader is the current vice chairperson.
Next year South Africa will automatically assume the chairperson position.
The election therefore isn’t anything centered on achievements whatsoever.
That notwithstanding it’s good for the nation but she has to be careful in other not to repeat the Takoradi girls (May their souls rest in perfect peace) episode again.
Life isn’t about lobbying but the need to assume positions via merit and nothing else.
