Why should a country that keeps borrowing money from IMF give allowance to its students at all? Are we serious? After training them, they leave for greener pastures abroad. All Ghanaians have to be wise enough to speak to some of these cheap poltical scores to win people for votes. Government should stop wasting the meagre resources. The poor farmers and many who are sick and have nothing to eat, does the government care about them, but keeps inflation and taxes so high? Ghana is sick and needs spiritual healing!

The deception and the lies still continues. Instead of Dr Bawumia and the npp acknowledging and conceding to the former president Mahama's proposal to withdraw the allowances and introduce students loans taking cognisance of the country's status as a developing economy which cannot afford and should not even entertain the luxury of paying allowances to students we are still pandering to populists stunts which keep creating irreparable damage to our economy and so we keep are going round in the same vicious cycle of underdevelopment, bowl in arms begging for support. what at all is wrong with us..

Where else in the developing and even developed economies are tertiary students paid allowances?
The depth of our crass stupidity is accentuateed by the fact these are even a small chunk of students pursuing higher education in our training institutions. If we single out nurses, and teachers, what of those pursuing law, medicine, engineering, accounting, etc etc.?
We are behaving so foolishly as if we own all the wealth on earth meanwhile here we are always cup in hands begging for arms and funds to support our economy in one way or the other..
Why don't we reach a consensus as a nation, both ndc & npp scrap the allowances, and adopt former president's Mahama's proposal and expand the loan facility from the existing..
Why do we cut our nostrils to always spite our faces, why??
We cannot continue in this wasteful trajectory for eternity
