Everywhere is hard but sending 11 months baby to school is a no go area for me. If my baby is not 3 years old, he/she is not stepping the damn feet in classroom. I will teach her the basics in the house till they are able to speak before I send them to school.

May God have mercy on us all. It's not easy but we should always think about our children first.

Even real mothers of kids do same just that the kids were not suffocated. All we need is education on how to feed care for children. Professional ethics must be well taught and examined in career training than the theoretical training.
Secondly, the charge absolutely qualifies for a manslaughter not murder. And even the manslaughter is second degree not a first degree. Good intention that leads to death doesn't deserve a hefty sentence as suggested. But please, let's change our ways of training our professionals to more ethical training to prevent these issues. Even our legal education lacks ethical training and enforcement.

Kate Roughley's neglectful actions caused Genevieve Meehan to suffocate at Tiny Toes Nursery in Stockport, Greater Manchester, where the early years practitioner also tightly swaddled and covered the infant with a blanket.

Roughley, 37, was found guilty of manslaughter after a month-long trial at Manchester Crown Court on Monday, and today judge Mrs Justice Ellenbogen sentenced her at the same court. The judge told Roughley she "no genuine remorse" for the baby's death

Most comments dont get it.I vividly remember 30 years ago when my wife had to resume work after maternity leave. Her grandmother had come to visit and was caring for our daughter while we went to work. Even though she was educated and a retired matron of a training college,she persisted in force feeding our daughter till I put a stop to it. She was not doing it out of malice buta misplaced concern that our daughter was not eating well. This care giver did not wilfully killthe child,hence the manslaughter charge and the 5 year sentence. These things happen and I sympathize with the parents and the care giver.It was not intentional.
