Otherwise why does government demand PAYE. You wasted sometime and monies on visitation across the. Country when you became finance minister. This could have paid one contractor. Our country is weak. Too much imports, weak exports, weak manufacturing, high electricity and fuel and water bills, high taxes, low productivity. We are an agro based economy whether we like it or not. Square pegs old and tired ministers always in the agric ministry. Small Netherlands size country exported upwards €50 billion last year, mighty China close to $90billion, small country Peru did $10billion, big Ghana dipping and dipping, why. See what is happening to our cocoa, galamsey and other troubles.bringing it down.

Any responsible government has the obligation of paying for the good and services which it contracts. It’s only in Akuffo Addo’s government that a finance minister will suggest that in order to ‘arrest ‘ the runaway, currency, the government is justified in not paying contractors. The one big reason behind the flagging cedi is politicians converting their stolen monies into $, €, and £ because they are afraid to keep the monies in cedi bank accounts. Also the foreign nationals doing business in Ghana including Lebanese, Chinese, South Africans, Turkish and Arabs changing cedis on a daily basis. Someone should check flights such as Turkish, Ethiopian, Kenyan, Emirates and they’d see how much hard currencies are transported out of Ghana on a daily basis. These guys are afraid to use Delta, United, British and KLM for fear of seizure of their undeclared currency. It’s as simple as that.
