Unless you have been living under a rock anybody thinking of relocating to the West must keep in mind the massive risk of war between NATO and Russia that is increasing at a frightening rate on a weekly basis. Just a few days ago the UK authorities advised its residents and citizenry to stock up food and water for a minimum of 3 days in case of a national emergency). They did not really specify clearly what kind of wmwrgency they were referring to. However anybody who has been closely following the news (not the mainstream media who are now nothing more than propaganda mouthpieces) knows that the rapidly deteriorating situation in Ukraine could at any moment lead to a direct hot war between Russia and NATO. If this happened nuclear weapons would be used swiftly with catastrophic consequences for the world.
Sadly the populations in the West are largely unaware or indifferent to the gathering storm clouds above their heads. War has always been something they read about or watched on TV in in faraway lands while they munched popcorn and sipped diet coke. Not even the churches in the West appear to notice the great storms brewing overhead that could burst over their heads.
It is our prayer that World War 3 will never happen but there are those who think it has already started in a hybrid low key form which will inevitably boil over into a hot nuclear conflagration resulting in the destruction of civilizations that have been in existence for millennia.
As with most things in life this does not need to happen. Alas our world is now led in most places by godless self-enthroned, arrogant and hubristic leaders who are completely blind o the consequences of their actions.

I was a soldier in the Ghana Army but at some point in the service, I chose to travel to the developed world to better my life just as he did. There are thousands of ex-soldiers with the same story who are domiciled in UK, Canada, US, Australia, Germany and other developed countries as well as in Asia and even in parts of Africa. This called migration. As some point in human life, you need to move on. His story is no news at all and I dont see the reason why GhanaWeb will belittle themselves by puting thisl media, unless Ghanaweb want us to know that his travelling to US is political.
If its economic reason, then its no news and that NPP government should not be blamed for that, because since from Kwame Nkrumah era through Dr Busia, Liman (rest ell sir), Kuffour, Atta Mills (rest well sir), Mahama to Akuffo Addo, soldiers have been resigning and seeking greener pastures elsewhere. I am a living example. I resigned and travelled to better my life during Kuffours time. Many many of my colleagues later travelled during Mahama's time. One thing for you guys Ghanaweb to understand is that being in Uniform as a soldier, it was very easy to acquire a visa expecially when you are in the United Nations Peacekeeping operational areas, and in Ghana. So Ghanaweb, this is no story. He's not the only soldier who has moved on. Others will follow. Its a 'tradition'. It's not about NPP government's economic policies. If its about economic, then his dreams will be shattered because the whole world is in an economic mess; not only Ghana.

Those we call them 'Officers' are referred as Commissioned Officers and those we call 'Other Ranks' are Non Commissioned Officers. Per the understanding of the English language, both titles Commissioned Officers and Non Commisioned Officers are all 'officers'. One is Commissioned and the other is Non Commissioned. Get it straight.
