The article is wrong about the AG meeting Jakpa without his lawyer being present. The AG was in the residence of the Justice when the accused showed up unannounced. It was wrong for the Justice to bring up the accused's criminal case, and it was also wrong for the AG to discuss the case with the Justice and the accused. Both the Justice and the AG must be sanctioned for their unethical conduct. I have a strong feeling that the Justice arranged the meeting of the two with the intent of getting the AG to either drop the case against the accused or or perhaps enter into some deal with the accused, giving that the Justice made it known to the AG that the accused is his cousin. A complte mess of a case.

In my considered opinion, I disagree completely with you. You may describe the scenario as an ambush. I call it a case of, "...All in a day's work.." Dame, it can be argued, to a critical eye, appears unalarmed or perturbed (which he should have been) by the entry of Monsieur Jakpa, nor is there any evidence of indignation on his part regarding the foregoing. It would appear that this is a man who is not averse to cracking the window open when the house cannot be accessed via the front door ...indeed it may be concluded based on past allegations and the purported number of meetings in this case, that this could very well be par-for-the-course for the AG. To corroborate these public accusations made in no less a place than in open court by media PR is a horrible faux pas whose ramifications are unimaginable. I can only be impelled, considering the gravity of the matter, to put my private musings into the public domain. I pray that they remain conjecture.

Jakpa Ndula has done anything so spectacular. He will regret his actions. Plea bargain is a discretionary process for prosecutors to engage in what they call “ turn the tide”, the prosecution is allowed to talk to those accused who are considered victims, especially those who are used as conduits. The prosecutor can cut a plea bargain with such victims to testify against their co- conspirators— for a lesser sentence. In other terms, the prosecutor may seek to convince potential victims to refuse to assume responsibility for their lesser role in crimes committed against the state by testifying against the more powerful culprits in return for a lesser punishment. If it becomes worst the judge can refer the case to a Special Prosecutor.

In my considered opinion, I disagree completely that this was an "ambush". I call it a case of, "...All in a day's work.." Dame, it can be argued, to a critical eye, appears unalarmed or perturbed (which he should have been) by the entry of Monsieur Jakpa, nor is there any evidence of indignation on his part regarding the foregoing. Some have suggested that he should have protested and walked toute de suite upon the entry of Mr Jakpa. It would appear that this is a man who is not averse to cracking the window open when the house cannot be accessed via the front door ...indeed it may be concluded based on past allegations and the purported number of meetings per this report/admission, that this could very well be par-for-the-course for the AG. To corroborate these public accusations made in no less a place than in open court by media PR by no less an authority as the office of the AG is a horrible faux pas whose ramifications are unimaginable. To be compelled to address the matter at all in the public domain via the office of the AG, considering that the AG is prosecuting the case involving Jakpa, the 3rd accused, is an ethical catastrophe and a legal calamity of nuclear proportions. I can only be impelled, considering the gravity of the matter, to put my private musings into the public domain. I pray that they remain conjecture.

There’s nothing wrong with the fact the AG met the accused or the defendant in the house of the Supreme Court judge. All these factors are part of means of cutting a plea deal with the defendant to testify against the more powerful Ato Forson, who also accused in the case— and who seems to be pushing the crux of the malfeasance to Jakpa. From reading excerpts of cases that have been settled through a plea bargaining, judges are allowed to be present, likewise defense attorneys can also be present, it depends on how the AG wants to the process to proceed. The AG could’ve chosen not to talk to the defendant when he bumped into him at his uncles house. But I believe the question must’ve been raised by one of the three, which is not out the way since the defendant has prior to that meeting consented to cutting some kind of a deal with the AG.

ALL THE FUSS YOU PEOPLE ARE MAKING HAS NO BEARING ON THE MATTER , NEITHER CAN THAT PUT DAME’S ACTIONS INTO DISREPUTE! JUST KNOCK THE NONSENSE OFF!
