Monies that will be used to conduct elections are channel in developmental projects. Public workers are more transparent and accountable. There's discipline among the citizenry. Productive hours are not waste on radio by able men and women discussing stupid politics.
Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso and Guinea are better countries now!
Ironically, the so called excesses of military regimes are worse under Akuffo Addo's democracy. Daily killings of journalists, ordinary Ghanaians, unlawful arrest and detention innocent people. Persecution of political opponents and critiques. #Military must take over

Parliament has passed the “Plea Bargaining Bill” to amend the Criminal and Other Offences (Procedure Act), 1960 (Act 30).  Sponsored by the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Godfred Yeboah Dame, the passage of the Bill will see to the formal incorporation of plea bargaining firmly into the administration of justice in Ghana for the first time.  The Bill was passed by the 8th Parliament of the 4th Republic on the 24 June 2022, after intense review by both sides of the house.  By this amendment to the Criminal Procedure Act, plea bargaining will be permissible in all cases except a few which have been set out in the Bill passed by Parliament.  Plea bargaining is a process in criminal justice prevailing in other jurisdictions, where an accused person relinquishes the right to go to full trial in exchange for some other benefit.  The benefits of plea bargaining to an accused may include a reduction of the offence charged to a lesser offence, a reduction in punishment for an offence charged or a withdrawal of some of the charges against the accused person.  While plea bargaining may result in the withdrawal of charges entirely in exchange for a promise to assist in the prosecution of others, most plea bargains end in a conviction either for one or more of the offences charged or for a lesser offence of which the accused could have been convicted at a trial.  For the State, the benefits of plea bargaining, as explained by the Attorney-General to Parliament before the second reading of the Bill earlier in March this year, include a reduction in the caseloads of the courts and of prosecutors, saving the State time and money through avoiding long and protracted trials, decongestion of the prisons due to reduced sentencing, aiding in the reform of accused persons and the satisfaction of victims of offences through compensation and restitution in addition to the punishment of the accused.

Under the new plea bargaining laws, both the defense or the prosecution can either approach each other to begin the plea deal process. Just that the NDC numbskull lawyers are just playing propaganda or totally non-abreast with the new changes in our constitution. Don’t mind them! They are just playing politics. I believe they are aware of the new changes in our constitution in respect to the recently passed Plea Bargain Laws and what it entails!

The defendant clearly has ethical boundaries, for he he made it known to the crooked Attorney General that he can't present to the court testimony that contradicts the facts. The Attorney General was adamant on coaching the defendant to lie. That certainly isn't how plea deals are discussed. The Attorney General is a crook.

There's no way Godfred Dame or any Supreme Court Justice will host Jakpa who is an NDC to indict Atto-Forson who is not any ordinary member of the NDC, but an MP and minority leader in parliament. NDC knows Atto-Forson is in a deep mess so they fabricate these lies to muddy the waters and create a credibility crisis. But the resignation of Godfred or the justice even if this evil tactics work doesn't change the evidence on the deal. Godfred doesn't need Japka to build any case and those who have a dime of common sense know that. The details of the ambulance transaction is available and enough to make a case whether there was financial loss or not, and whether Atto-Forson had the capacity as deputy finance minister to order the transaction behind his boss Seth Terkper. Japka should cut the crap and cry his own cry. It doesn't add up!
