On Monday, just this past Monday I went to see a friend of mine and he was telling me what his Nederlands passport would guarantee him as his retirement package across three different countries - which is well over £2000 (British pounds) every month for the rest of his life - if not for corruption not even a retired president of Ghana would get that much.

This shouldn't be a debate, the NABCO and Youth In Afforestation programs graduates, who were being paid 700 and 600 cedis a month, and weren't even being paid when the time was due,can and will easily attest to the fact that what the guy is saying is true, There are many things that are even disgraceful and difficult to voice out but are factually accurate, even animals in Holland are being treated well,loved, protected, have good food and medication, dogs have good schools than some or many humans there in Ghana and Africa as a whole, instead of being angry with the guy, you should rather tackle the root cause which is corruption, instead of butt licking the politicians for your greedy selfish interests, u should rather hold them accountable, dont go and take some of the stolen monies and defend them by heart like Kwasia Adade, Agorkorlie and co.

I understand where this guy is coming from. At the time of our Independence There were few PhD holders in the country. Unfortunately with more PhD and other higher education degrees and opportunities in the country we are rather saddled with economic problems with all the PhD holders in the same field of Economics , doctors ,lawyers, accountants , bankers you name it. The only professions that have really established Ghana in the world are the ones without even HNDs in their field of expertise. The Boxers, Footballers and Musicians. Another surprise now that we also have plenty of Prophets claiming to be the direct messengers of The Almighty GOD with Churches springing up like mushrooms and spreading like wildfire our country has become a place of chaos ,acts of unbelievable brutality , violence , intimidation , murders , corruption armed robberies and downright acts of Evil. Even a Ghanaian with a “DIPLOMATIC Passport “ is looked upon with the most detestable sense of suspicion. Let’s face Facts and reality and bloody Wake Up from our useless and Stupid Fantasies.

The respect for any passport is a reflection of how that country is governed, which in turn is a reflection of the what the citizens allow themselves to subjected to, by the people who govern them. Who intend allow the citizens to do as they please. This is a perfect recipe for underdevelopment, and can only be reversed by choosing responsible, honest, nationalistic leaders, and this requires some education.

That is the sad truth facing all of us. The whole of Ghana is a crime scene. Go on the streets where we have the phd less people and they will even curse you if you try to convince them the a PhD is better that a Dutch passport. The clear reason is their observations of PhD holders who are looting the nation blind because they themselves have not created any comfortable environment for people to comfortably clean toilets and be proud about it. There were two kinds of slaves, the house Negro and the field Negro. The house Negroes--they lived in the house with master, they dressed pretty good, they ate good because they ate his food--what he left. They lived in the attic or the basement, but still they lived near their master; and they loved their master more than their master loved himself. In Ghana where the vice president has disassociate himself from everything that has gone wrong with his own government just because he also want to be president and still enjoys the support of a large number of the citizens, who in his rightful mind living in a country where people are serious and things are done properly will take the people of Ghana serious? Even the most successful amongst the Diaspora have paid a price to get there and like one I recently had contact with who is approaching retirement ( and a guaranteed pension of at least a $100,000/annum) she wondered "was it really worth it"? She like many living long-term abroad feel drained and spent after a lifetime of struggle and having to cope with being an outsider. They reached the top of their game but it came at great personal cost In contrast some
have genuinely not regretted the move to abroad because it allowed them to 1. Raise their families in the way they wanted and their their children were now well settled. Working abroad also provided them with the rare opportunity to make a difference in the lives of some less fortunate relatives. Some however note that trying to help some
relatives can be a bitter-sweet experience fraught with frustration and stress and disillusionment simply because not everybody who is helped really values it or yields good results.
