This is a disgrace and shameful. You mean somebody has to raise the alarm in the media before you act, it doesn't make sense. All the security people at that section must be changed immediately.

As the traveller will still have to go through customs.Something can be taken out or put in .Its a very bad practice.

The airport is one big Den of thieves. You land and the theft starts. After you get your luggage you are taken to Agriculture dept where they decide that all your foods even if dry and packed are not allowed and are taken by them. Then you go to customs where green channel has no meaning since everyone has to stop and open their bags. However strangely you see specific so called big men and women being escorted with cartons and cartons and bags on bags all shrink wrapped passing through without a single check or stop. Very very annoying to see and experience this. We are stuck in a particular mind set and will never change.

When I got to the front of the queue, a young lady from the Customs asked me what I brought for her.I asked her whether she gave me any money to buy anything for her. She replied no. So I said then what the are you talking about. The next question was have I got any perfume on me so I said yes and what's the problem? She said did I know I had pay taxes on them? That was when I got mad at her. I asked her that because I was not going to give her penny she was going to blackmail me but sadly lady I am ready for your stupid behaviour. Suddenly a senior officer appeared on the scene and calmed me down. Those silly begging should stop. It's embarrassing.

Customs agents robbed my wife of $200.00 us by claiming that her immunization documents were not correct. This was her first trip to Ghana , and she confirmed her immunization documents were in order before leaving new York. A total of 4 agents escorted her to an ATM near their posts, and watched her withdraw the funds. "What about me?" Chimed in the last of the agents fearing that the money she withdrew wouldn't be available to him.

Good fortune and a friend of mine who knows the minister of the interior, scheduled a brief meeting with him the next day. Face to face, I related the details of my wife's extortion to the minister. "What!??" Was his angry reply to this news, which I had sent him the night before via email.
He assured me that the perpetrators would be discovered, due to CCTV cameras that were in place.

As of today, 16 June, 2024, I have had no response from anyone from the minister's office, and my wife is still without the $200.00 dollars stolen from her by people who are supposed to be welcoming travelers to Ghana, not stealing from them.
