The Presbyterians posit that The Roman Universal Church is not good doctrinally. However, The Presbyterian Church uses and celebrates many of the fake celebrations instituted by the Roman Catholic/Universal Church and many are still following the deceptions after these years.
For example, Birthday Day or Christmas and Easter celebrations among others.

Some members of the Presbyterian are not familiar with the usage of the word Catholic to refer to the universal church, so despite many explanations clarifications from the leadership of the church ,they've found it necessary to replace the word in order to remove the confusion it creates.

All said and done, the creed was created by the Roman Catholic Church; take it or leave it. It's all part of the imperialist agenda because the Roman Empire was never conquered but gradually metamorphosed into the Roman Catholic Church through the Holy Roman Empire with all its religious and administrative structure. Words like cathedral, synod, cardinal, diocese, Easter etc were all imported wholesale into the Roman Church. The Presbyterian Church could therefore do itself a lot of good if it abandoned the creed, altogether. No IFs or BUTs.

PCG came to meet the Apostles Creed and those who established the church found it necessary to say the Creed so what has gone wrong ? I find it a bit funny because replacing 'Holy Catholic Church' with 'Holy Universal Church' is neither here nor there. The word Catholic is derived from a Greek word meaning universal so did you go or did you come ?

In the Akan Language, which I am familiar with, the same phenomenon is expressed as “Asomafo Gyedi”. And the translation of “Holy Catholic Church” is “Asɔre Krokron a ԑwɔ Mbeae Nyinaa”. That is how my native mums and dads say it Sunday after Sunday. I trust it is the same with other local congregations.
If the Top Presbyters want to protect the civility of their church, let them teach their congregations to say the vernacular version of the creed and there would be no confusion. The Presby Church of Ghana failed to educate their congregation well to understand the meaning of the words used in the creed, and that is the cause of this unnecessary edict. I suppose the Ghana Presby Church is going to advise Christians in the English world to change Catholic to Universal. Otherwise, they should know that synod have wasted their time on this issue for no good reason!

Maybe it is a way of acknowledging the Catholic Church as the mother of all the churches . So if the Presby church in Ghana has issues with the word catholic in the creed, they should just formulate their own creed in its entirety . Other churches world wide have no issues with the creed only the Presby church in Ghana. So if the Presbyterian Church does not want just a word in a creed written more than a thousand years, but like the whole creed, it is being disingenuous. This is unnecessary distraction.
